Ben Johnson - vocals, bodhran, English concertina, whistles
He is proud of his Scottish and Irish blood, however
he is mostly French Canadian, Swedish and Norweigan. Figures.
He has spent the last 20 years exploring Celtic music from all the different regions. He enjoys hearing and playing the all various kinds of traditional Celtic music - rowdy, randy pub songs, forlorn ballads, and all the instrumentals. The last 10 years have been spent playing with Sassanach as well as local sessions. He has also played bodhran and concertina with Little Gray House, The Marc GartBand and Stone Circle.
Ben like any excuse to get away with wearing his kilt - it's just that comfy. He plays an Albert Alphonso bodhran
- recommends them to any serious bodhran player who wants more than just a drumbeat.
